Over four games at Lutz yesterday, our Colts squads were able to keep the Chiefs out of the end zone all day save for 1 touchdown in the first game of the day against our Pee Wee squad. Our boys played extremely well all day in front of stands packed with plenty of Colts fans.
The Pee Wee squad was two seconds away from going into the half up 6-0, but a 90 yard run by the Chiefs as time expired forced a 6-6 game at the beginning of the second half. However, just a few plays later, the Colts drove into the end zone to take a 13-6 lead that they were able to hold onto for the duration of the game.
As exciting as that game was, our Supers decided to do one better as they engaged in one of the most defensive battles our Colts have ever seen. Scoreless at the half, neither team found the end zone in the second half either and the game ended 0-0. There were only a few scoring opportunities all game as both teams relied heavily on their defenses.
Our Midget team scored early and played very well on both sides of the ball to post a 14-0 win against the Lutz Chiefs. Coach Chuck gave all the boys high marks for their effort, calling it one of their best all season.
The Varsity game was ugly with both teams committing multiple personal fouls and was stopped early with the Colts given the 24-0 win.
