With the cancellations last week, yesterday marked the season openers for all four of our squads at Skyway Park. The Colts were able to come away with two wins vs the Giants to get the season started.
Our Pee Wee squad fought hard, but fell 18-0 against the Giants in the early game of the day.
The Super Midgets started the game with a long pass for a TD right out of the gate and stayed ahead the rest of the game. They defeated the Giants 27-6 and looked very good.
The Midget team played a tough and hard defensive first half against the Giants and went into halftime scoreless. The clouds dissipated and the heat took its toll during the 2nd half and our boys eventually suffered a 13-0 loss under extremely hot weather.
Our Varsity squad evened the day out by handing the Giants a 14-0 shutout in what was reported to be the hottest part of the afternoon at Skyway.
