The Colts Pee Wee team played a tough defensive game against the Nuccio Jaguars with neither team even threatening to score. A scoreless tie was all we had to show for a very hard game to start the day off in Oldsmar.
Super Midgets, fresh off a big win last week, didn’t show the same level of play today as the Jaguars beat them on both sides of the ball and rolled to a 32-0 victory to the disappointment of stands full of Colts parents and supporters.
The bright spot of the day also came from the most exciting game of the day. Coach Calvin’s Midget squad fell behind early and trailed nearly the entire game before scoring to even the score with less than 20 seconds left in the game. The Colts extra point kick following the TD gave them an 8-6 lead which they nearly lost on the ensuing kickoff with the Jaguars getting down very close go the Colts end zone.
Our Varsity squad, working with very few substitutes on such a hot day, lost to the Jags 24-8.
